By the time he got to Phoenix, dog made unscheduled detour to Ireland

This article is how about a family's dog, Hendrix, who was scheduled to go to Newark, Phoenix, was put onto the wrong flight to Ireland. Hendrix was quickly put back on the correct flight and was fed and looked over by attendants. United Airlines offered a full refund however the family is still outraged and demands for the person responsible to be fired.

One of the struggles here is one between the family and the Airline. Although I can understand why the family is so upset, their dog was taken cared of, fed, and was immediately put back on the correct flight, and arrived safely. I think it is rather unreasonable to still be so angered and demand for the person to be fired when the Airline offered a full refund (though it was probably an attempt for the family to be appeased and not cause a ruckus that would taint United Airlines). In the end, Hendrix arrived safely, and the family and their dog was reunited, and I think that is all that matters.

  1. I had to chuckle at this article. Although it is very scary to know that your bog is so far away, later on, they got him back. And they would get a full refund. Even though someone messed up, at least they worked quickly to correct it. They didn't just sit and say they had better things to do, and overlook the dog. They took care of him. I don't think someone should be fired. If the family gets to have their money and their dog, then the worker should get to keep their job. Besides, I'm sure their manager or boss punished them enough after the incident.

  2. Poor dog, I wonder if it was scared at all? Regardless, I agree that they overreacted and should be happy that their pooch is safe and sound, but the Airlines should be more careful about its passengers, human or not. This doesn't sound like an everyday mistake, confusing Arizona with Ireland, but I'm sure the worker did not do this on purpose and deserves a second chance. Don't we all?

  3. I agree, the family should just be happy their dog is safe and was taken care of. He could have been lost or worse. At least he's home.
